The police detained Lomau when he was covering Sunday's protest rally against the presidential election results and the security forces' violence. He was taken to the police department, where he was charged with participation in an unauthorized event (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus) and held in the detention centre until the trial. On November 16, the court found Lomau guilty based on the police report and fined him.
