Blogger Anatoly Shariy was accused of state treason and inciting national hatred. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, he allegedly assisted Russian structures in conducting «information operations». In particular, he discredited state policy through the media. The investigation is open under two criminal articles: treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and violation of equality of citizens based on their race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, disability, and other characteristics (Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
