The journalist was detained by the police when she was covering a women's protest march. She was taken to the police department, where she was drawn up a report for violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus) and then transferred to the temporary detention centre on Akrestsina Street until the trial. On September 7, the court found Anastasia Zakharevich a participant in the unauthorized protest and arrested her for seven days.
