Anastasia Mokrenko, the publishing editor of 24.kg, was summoned for interrogation to the Bishkek Department of the State Committee for National Security regarding the bomb threat in the RedCentre shopping centre. A special services officer arrived at the editorial office and asked Mokrenko to accompany him to the department. The argument that the journalist was ready to appear on summons and together with her lawyer was ignored by the officer. Mokrenko was taken away from the editor’s office during working hours. In the SCNS building, she was interrogated as a witness about the circumstances of that day — it was Anastasia Mokrenko who found the letter about the explosive device. At the end of January, the 24.kg editorial office e-mail received a message saying that there was a bomb in the building. It is known that the same letter was sent to the e-mails of several other organizations. The message turned out to be false.
