The Russian Ministry of Justice has designated BBC Russian Service journalist Anastasia Lotareva as a “foreign agent.” The ministry alleges that Lotareva “disseminated false information about decisions made by Russian public authorities and their policies,” as well as “false information intended to tarnish the image of the Russian Armed Forces.” According to the press release, the BBC journalist opposed the war in Ukraine and took part in distributing materials produced by “foreign agents.”
