The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs has designated the online publication Mediazona. Belarus as an extremist organisation. The ministry’s website states that it has recognised “a group of citizens, comprising the leaders and active participants of an internet project, who engage in extremist activities, including through the use of online resources.” The list of such resources includes the websites mediazona.by and mediazonaby.com, affiliated social media accounts, email addresses, the publication’s Telegram and YouTube channels, its logo, as well as the personal accounts and email address of journalist Anastasia Boyko. Anastasia Boyko is also named as the person who, according to the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs, coordinated the “extremist activities”; she is described as the organisation’s head and editor.
