On September 26, the trial on the libel case started in the specialised court for administrative offences of the Saryagash District of the Turkestan Region. The charges were brought against Amangeldy Batyrbekov, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Saryagash-Inform. The reason for the lawsuit was the article "And who is the real karabet?" published on June 30. Batyrbekov wrote in the article that one of the candidates for deputy in the early parliamentary elections submitted a false certificate of criminal record, which an employee of the Shymkent department of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records of the General Prosecutor's Office helped her obtain. The court proceedings were initiated on the claim of A. Sapargaliyev, Head of the Department of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts in Shymkent.
