Former Prime Minister and leader of the Party for the Development and Consolidation of Moldova (PDCM), Ion Chicu, criticised a Ziarul de Gardă analysis on pension indexation in a Facebook post. In doing so, he directed verbal insults at the newspaper’s director, Alina Radu, stating: “The escort from zGardă decided to do an 'analysis' on indexations... If she weren’t blinded by the millions received from PAS (Party of Action and Solidarity), she would notice, even in the image she posted, that 2020 was the only year when pensions were indexed twice: on April 1 and October 1. The inflation in 2020 compared to 2022 doesn’t reveal the same misery either.
