It became known that the police searched the flat of the parents of the editor of the website Vitebsky Kurier News Aliaksandr Kornyshau. The journalist himself lives in Poland after forced emigration in 2020. The search was conducted in a criminal case for promoting extremist activity (Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus). The reason for the prosecution was Aliaksandr’s participation in the programme of the TV channel Belsat declared by the Belarusian regime an «extremist formation». «Since none of my belongings are there at all, the police did not take anything away, they only looked at the information on my brother’s computer and tablet, and checked my father’s phone. They photographed our correspondence in Telegram», — told Kornyshau.
