The Jalal-Abad Regional Court released blogger Ali Ergeshev under house arrest. The court changed the measure of restraint against the blogger, detained in a hooliganism case, on February 15. According to the court decision, he will be under house arrest until March 13. The Ministry of Internal Affairs officers detained him at Manas airport in Bishkek. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the blogger was detained by order of the Jalal-Abad City Court as part of a criminal case initiated over hooliganism that occurred in May 2023. During the detention, the blogger said on Instagram that he links the detention to his professional activities. Ali is a well-known blogger and has his own channel, where he talks about the quality of services, the sanitary condition of the catering industry and publishes citizens’ appeals about various violations in the Jalal-Abad region in the south of the country.
