The Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Chita sentenced Zakruzhny to 2 years and 3 months of suspended imprisonment under the article on calling to mass riots with threat of violence against representatives of authorities (Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The criminal case was initiated in 2020 because of a YouTube stream. The blogger was outraged that passages to cemeteries were blocked in Chita before Parents’ Day on April 28. He called for the cordon to be «torn down» and a «freaking revolution» to be started. In addition, he will be banned for 2 years from engaging in public activities, including on the Internet. On May 27, 2021, the sentence was overturned and the case was returned to the prosecutor’s office. In addition, the defendant’s laptop and charger were seized for the benefit of the state.
