The Chertanovo Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office drew up an administrative offence report against historian and political commentator Alexey Uvarov for alleged participation in the activities of an “undesirable” organisation (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offences), citing his supposed links to the outlet Meduza. Owing to an error, the report was issued against a namesake with the same full name who has no connection to the media. The report was based on a post published on Meduza’s Telegram channel that mentioned Uvarov. In November 2025, the Ministry of Justice designated the historian as a “foreign agent.”
