The Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced Shkola to 30 hours of public service under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (participation in an unauthorized rally). The photographer was working at the January 23 protest rally with an editorial assignment. When he was detained, he was hit with a truncheon, handcuffed, and his phone was taken away from him at the police station.
