Yoshkar-Ola-based journalist Aleksey Seryogin reported about threats to him. In the evening of March 1, Seryogin received a call from a man who introduced himself as a friend and said that one of Seryogin’s publications had hurt some «high-ranking persons». The interlocutor told Seryogin that it had been decided to «close» him for 10-20 years, and it was not yet known whether Seryogin would be planted with drugs, accused of «discrediting» the army, or there would be some other reason for the case. The caller «advised» Seryogin to change his phone number and place of residence. After Seryogin complained to the police, the unknown person called him again: he asked whether the journalist understood the meaning of the previous conversation and asked why Seryogin continued to maintain his blog.
