The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched a pre-trial investigation against journalist Alexey Pivovarov, the host of the YouTube project Redaktsiya, TASS reported, citing a source in law enforcement agencies. The check was launched based on materials from Rosgvardia, which told police on April 27 that Pivovarov allegedly used a fake medical certificate when he obtained a weapons licence. Another source said that Rosgvardia cancelled all of Pivovarov’s weapons documents because of the forged certificate.
