The Investigative Committee opened a case for defamation against a judge against Alexey Mashkevich, editor-in-chief of the Ivanovo-based media Slukhi i Fakty. The reason was two texts — «I was used as a condom and thrown away» and «Leninsky District Court — the most objective and impartial», which were complained about by the judge of Leninsky District Court of Ivanovo Yulia Raskina. In the first text, the journalist claimed that the judge asked the defendant to plead guilty, explaining what kind of testimony he had to give, and in the second — told about his attempts to get a comment from the court about the behavior of Raskina at the trial. Mashkevich insisted that he had no intent for libel and mixed up the voices of the judge and prosecutor Kirpicheva on the audio recording. When the mistake was found, the materials were immediately removed from the website, and Mashkevich wrote a refutation to Raskina and the judicial system. On November 28, Mashkevich was indicted.
