Malinovsky's apartment was searched over the libel case (Part 5 of Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The reason was an article dated May 14, in which the head of the operations and search division of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Andrey Pershikov, was accused of bribery. The security forces officers broke down the door; at that time, two small children were in the apartment. The journalist was thrown to the floor. A telephone, a hard drive, and two laptops, Malinovsky’s and his wife’s, were confiscated. On the same day, a search took place in the editorial office of the Novye kolesa newspaper.
