Journalist Alexander Zhuravlev reported that his WhatsApp account had been hacked. On Facebook, Alexander Zhuravlev warned his followers that they might receive a request for financial assistance on his behalf. The journalist stated that he had not sent out such messages and forbade to transfer money to him. According to him, the messenger «caught» a popular virus by receiving a call from an unknown number. Zhuravlev later said he had restored the messenger by completely uninstalling and restoring the programme on all devices. Nevertheless, several subscribers believed the call for help and sent money to the scammers.
