The journalist was summoned to the prosecutor's office because of his post on VKontakte social network about the ties between the general director of Karelstroymekhanizatsia Nikolay Makarov and United Russia. Stepanov called Makarov a «bastard» and demanded to bring the journalist to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 5.61 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (insult).
