The police detained the journalist on the street. He was taken to the police department, where he was drawn up a report for violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). The reason for the administrative prosecution was his coverage of the protest action against the presidential election results. He was placed in the detention centre until the trial. On August 13, the court found the journalist guilty and arrested him for eight days.
