The police are checking Shtefanov because of the documentary film «Ordinary Denazification» about life in the occupied territories of Ukraine, which Shtefanov filmed and published on YouTube. The check is being conducted under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including incitement to hatred or enmity (Article 282), spreading «fakes» about the army (Article 207.3), and calls for terrorism (Article 205.2). A subscriber from Moscow demanded that Shtefanov be held criminally liable and access to his channel be restricted: according to the informer, Shtefanov is engaged in «enemy propaganda», supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine, «discredits» the Russian military, and recognises Crimea and Donbas as parts of Ukraine.
