On August 10, the court issued a warning to the journalist. The police detained the journalist the night before, on the day of the presidential election, when he was covering a peaceful protest of the citizens who disagreed with the preliminary results of the voting. He was taken to the district police department where a report on violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus) was drawn up on him. He was placed in the detention center until the trial.
