The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg fined journalist Alexander Nevzorov under the article on incitement to hatred or hostility, as well as humiliation of human dignity (Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). The reason for the prosecution was Nevzorov’s interview with the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty, as well as the programme from the series «Nevzorov’s Little Wednesdays». According to the court, Nevzorov made negative statements about Vladimir Putin, about the inhabitants of Russia, about the annexation of Crimea, about the Russian army, and the war in Ukraine. Experts saw in Nevzorov’s statements humiliation of citizens of Russia and Belarus, Russian military, representatives of the authorities, representatives of the stage arts, «Cossacks», and ministers of religious cults.
