TikTok blogger Alexander Nemenok was sentenced by the court to the fine of RUB 400,000 in a criminal case on justification of terrorism. He was prosecuted because of videos criticising the Russian authorities and the war in Ukraine. He can pay it for three years, but, according to the blogger, his accounts are still blocked. Nemenok was detained on May 31, 2022. Federal Security Service officers seized equipment during a search, but the detainee was released as it was the first time he had been prosecuted. In September, Nemenok was sent to the pre-trial detention center, where he spent two months. He said that before that his phone had been tapped by Federal Security Service officers for the last several months — the blogger learnt about it from the law enforcers themselves. Then, he was sent under house arrest.
