The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation has put journalist and host of Popular Politics Alexander Makashenets on a wanted list. The content of the criminal case is unknown. In February 2023, the Ministry of Justice declared Makashenets a «foreign agent». The journalist lives in exile.
