Editor of regional news website 'Vitebsk courier news' Aleksandr Kornishev was found guilty of spreading extremist materials in a Vitebsk Pervomayskiy district court (based on part 2, article 19.11 of the Administrative Code). Given that Kornishev fled Belarus in November 2020 the hearing was carried out without his presence. The two items on the agenda dated from the 30th of April and 13th of May 2020, but their content was largely the same: Kornishev had posted links to Vitebsk Courier News on his VKontakte page. Police sent details about judicial protocols to him via social media messaging. Kornishev was fined 20 basic units (800 BYN).
