The police detained the journalist when he was covering Sunday's protest march against the presidential election results and the security forces' violence. He was taken to the police department for a «document check», where a report was drawn up on him for participation in an unauthorized event (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). He was held at the police station for about 10 hours. Ivulin was released late at night.
