The journalist was detained by riot policemen in the centre of Grodno by force, pushed into a police van, and severely beaten. He was taken to the district police department, where he was drawn up an administrative report for petty hooliganism and then held in the detention centre until the trial. On August 12, the court sent the case back for revision, and the journalist was released. On August 19, the court terminated the proceedings against the journalist due to the absence of administrative offence.
