The Ministry of Internal Affairs has placed Alesya Marokhovskaya on the wanted list. In December 2024, security forces conducted a search at Marokhovskaya's parents' home in Magadan in connection with a criminal case on charges of evading the obligations of a “foreign agent” (Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code). The journalist was added to the register of “foreign agents” in August 2021.
