The journalist was detained by the security officials when he was covering a protest action in the centre of the city. He was taken to the police department, where an administrative report was drawn up on him for alleged disobedience to the police (Article 23.4 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus), he was held in the detention centre for one day until the trial. On October 19, the court found Liubenchuk guilty and arrested him for 15 days.
