The security officials detained at least 43 media workers on October 11 while covering protests against the presidential election results. The journalist was detained, taken to the police department «to check the documents», held there for several hours, and had a report drawn up on him for participation in an unauthorized event (Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus). At the police station, Levchuk's state of health deteriorated. At first, the police didn't respond to his request to call an ambulance for a long time, but later agreed — the medics took the journalist to the hospital due to the aggravation of his chronic disease.
