The journalist received a letter about the case filed against her to protect honour, dignity and reputation. Earlier, she found several contradictions in the judicial process on the land dispute between the two inhabitants of Karakol city. «This previously influenced the court’s decision on the allocation of the land plot», - said Alena Khomenko to the JFJ Expert. Following the journalist’s investigation and public disclosure of the facts, the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan completely overturned all decisions of the previous court hearings related to the land's property and returned the case for a new hearing. The journalist wrote about this on her Facebook page. However, after the publication, she was assaulted by a defence representative, who followed Khomenko on the street and insulted her.
