Journalist of the Uralsk Week newspaper Aleksey Vorobyov was detained near the CityCenter mall, where an unauthorized rally of supporters of the Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan movement, banned in Kazakhstan, was supposed to have taken place. Vorobyov went there on the editorial assignment. Later, it became known that Vorobyov was taken to the Abay police department of Uralsk. The journalist was processed as being brought in for questioning in a criminal case on the dissemination of information of extremist content through social networks. He spent about 4 hours at the police station.
