The riot policemen detained the journalist at Grodno city centre and severely beat him in a police van. They took him to the ROVD, where they drew up an administrative protocol for petty hooliganism and left him in the isolation ward pending trial. On 12 August, the court sent the case back for revision, and the journalist was released. On 19 August, the court terminated the proceedings against the journalist due to the lack of corpus delicti.
