The Pavlodar City Court received a statement of a lawsuit in defense of honor, dignity and business reputation from businessperson Georg Shpeyzer. The subject of the lawsuit was a publication posted April 1 by the Pavlodar journalist Aleksandr Baranov on his account on the social network Facebook. Although the publication stated that it was an April 1st fantasy and all the characters and events in it were fictional, and any coincidences accidental, Shpeyzer treated it as the dissemination of false information. He demanded a retraction from the journalist and payment of compensation for emotional damages of 1 million tenge (US $2,384).
