On January 7, political activist Gias Ibrahimli tried to commit self-immolation in front of the Presidential Administration building. He objected to the non-enforcement of the European Court judgement against him — the non-payment of the compensation awarded to him. Journalists reporting from the action were physically pressurised by police and security guards of the administration. Alekper Azayev, an employee of Microskop Media, had his camera confiscated and the footage deleted. He was taken to the police and released after 3 hours.
