Journalist Aleh Hruzdzilovich was sentenced to 1.5 years of colony. The sentence was issued by the Sovetsky District Court of Minsk. The former journalist of the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty was charged with three episodes of participation in «mass riots» (Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus) during the protests against the rigged presidential elections in 2020. Hruzdzilovich said in court that he attended the protests as an accredited correspondent. The journalist was detained on December 23, 2021, shortly after the recognition of Radio Svaboda as an extremist formation, and was held in a pre-trial detention center.
