The Sovetsky District Court of Vladikavkaz reduced the measure of restraint of blogger Alan Khasiyev from arrest to prohibition of certain actions. Khasiyev’s case was received by the court on March 13, the preliminary hearing was postponed four times. Khasiyev is forbidden to use the Internet, attend mass and entertainment events, and leave the house at night. Khasiyev is accused of libel (Part 2 of Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) because of a post in his Telegram channel Challenges of Time, which said that Deputy Prosecutor of the Zaterechny District of Vladikavkaz David Batagov forces investigators to fabricate criminal cases against undesirable people. Khasiyev is also charged with theft with significant damage (Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He has been in custody since November 2022.
