Aktamak Koptleuova, a member of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) was subjected to rude treatment by police at a police department in Aktobe, where she was forcibly taken to be interrogated as a witness in a criminal case. The journalist was not allowed to sit, "Who let you sit until I give permission, stand in front of me," said Lieutenant Colonel Daurenbekov. When the reporter spoke out, the lieutenant colonel tried to beat her.
