Additional information:
The police detained Akmaral Fyodorova, a correspondent of the Uralsk Week newspaper when she was filming a one-man picket of activist Tlegen Tureshev. The journalist started filming him just at the moment when the police approached Tureshev and, after a short conversation, grabbed him and dragged him to the police car. Fyodorova asked why Tureshev was being detained, referring to the fact that one-man pickets were allowed by the president. After this question, despite the fact that the journalist introduced herself and told the police about her professional activities, the police detained her too. Later, it became known that Fyodorova was taken to the Abay police department of Uralsk. The journalist was processed as being brought in for questioning in a criminal case on the dissemination of information of extremist content through social networks. She spent about 4 hours at the police station.
