The city court in Taraz ruled on a lawsuit for the protection of honour, dignity, and business reputation filed against the correspondent of the newspaper Vremya Aizhan Auyelbekova, journalist Galina Skripnik, and activist Zhanna Mamasheva. The reason for the proceedings was the defendants’ complaint with the authorised bodies with a request to take measures against the plaintiff in connection with her attacks. The plaintiff demanded to declare the information in the complaint defamatory and false, to oblige the defendants to refute it, and to recover KZT 900,000 as compensation for moral damage. The court refused to satisfy the claims.
