Aijana Myrsan must pay a fine of KGS 100,000 (about USD 1,150) for inciting hatred. The court handed down the sentence a year after the criminal case against the blogger began. According to the police, Aijana posted a speech on Facebook aimed at «inciting ethnic hatred, as well as propaganda of inferiority of citizens on the basis of their ethnicity». Police stated that the repost caused widespread discussion, public outcry, and controversy among users of the social network, which may have provoked ethnic conflicts.
