Tbilisi City Court has sentenced Afgan Sadygov, an Azerbaijani journalist in exile in Georgia, to seven days of administrative arrest for “artificially blocking the road” on Rustaveli. The Ministry of Internal Affairs accused the Azerbaijani journalist of blocking the road on October 19, 20, and 21. Sadygov has already served 14 days in detention for the same offence. He previously spent nine months in detention in Georgia pending extradition, but was released following a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Since his release, he has been an active participant in protests held on Rustaveli Avenue.
