On 22 May, Human Rights Education and monitoring centre filed a lawsuit to the Batumi city court on behalf of the employees of Adjara Public Broadcaster and the Association of alternative professionals. The lawsuit demands to cancel the rules of conduct introduced on 8 April that control employer’s activities in social media. “According to our assessment, such rules are illegal because they violate the rights of broadcasters, work and privacy and interfere with democratic functioning of the public broadcaster”- claims the lawsuit. The employees were prohibited from posting their personal photos, videos and recording that didn’t belong to the TV companies.
