Journalist Adelaida Auyespekova contacted the secretary of the court in Almaty to cover the open trial of Bauyrjan Baibek, first deputy chairman of the ruling Nur Otan party, against civil activist Zhanbolat Mamay. Sessions are held online. On the day of the trial, the journalist asked when she would receive a link to access the session. The court replied that they could not decide which platform to choose. Then, the court secretary stopped answering Auyespekova's messages. The journalist was never connected to the trial. Vlast.kz journalist Olga Loginova encountered a similar situation.
