On the evening of November 20, Ulvi Hasanli was charged under Art. 206.3.2 (smuggling of foreign currency by a group of persons by prior conspiracy) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. Lawyer Zibeyda Sadigova told reporters about this. He has been brought in as a suspect and will be placed in a pre-trial detention cell. Hasanli pleaded not guilty and called the accusation unfounded. Hasanli said that when he went to the airport, the police stopped him and brought him to the Department for interrogation, where physical and psychological pressure was put on him. “They punched and kicked me, demanding to explain why we write about corruption and don’t write about Karabakh,” says Hasanli. According to the statement posted on the Abzas Media Facebook page, Hasanli's house was also searched. The search has been conducted without the court order.
