The Department of Internal Affairs of the Tashkent Region published a defamatory report refusing the beating and forced detention of journalist Abu Ali Niyazmatov. On 7 October, the journalist wrote a statement about a beating during the fixation of illegal logging of trees. It triggered a fast response from the Department of Internal Affairs. In it, law enforcement indirectly recognised the right of nature defenders, mentioning an administrative fine to the owner of the house of $2,700. The preliminary investigation procedure was not followed, although according to the journalist, the Internal Affairs Department was obliged to do it.
