Blogger Abdukodir Muminov, considered a vocal critic of President Mirziyoyev, was sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison. The criminal court of the Mirabad District of Tashkent also banned him from journalistic activities for 3 years. The court found him guilty under Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 141-1 (violation of the inviolability of private life resulting in grave consequences), Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 165 (extortion on a particularly large scale), Paragraph A of Part 4 of Article 168 (fraud on an especially large scale), Part 1 of Article 189 (violation of the rules on trade in goods or services on an especially large scale), and Article 211 through Article 28 (complicity in bribery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
