On July 2, the Tbilisi City Court issued a decision on a statement from the State Security Service, “for the purpose of complete and objective investigation,” on the request for a full story, complete and uninterrupted, unedited material, on the basis of which the investigation will be continued. The reference is to the program “Saturday Session” from June 20th and “Acquired COVID-19” from June 25, 2020, in which the State Security Service conducts an investigation in a criminal case on sabotage, a crime under Art. 318, part 1 of the Georgian Criminal Code. The investigation was begun on March 16, 2020 on the basis of operational information according to which “certain persons and groups of persons, using various media (including electronic) tried to disinform the public by disseminating false news about the spread of a new coronavirus,” “in order to have a negative influence on the public’s psychological state, and provoke distrust in them…”
