On June 15, the Director-General of the television channel “Mtavari Arkhi” Nika (Nikoloz) Gvaramia issued a statement saying that Russian citizen and Ingushetia native Vasambek Bokov was detained after a special operation in Tbilisi on June 12 for plotting an assassination on Giorgi Gabunia on the instruction of the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov. Giorgi Gabunia, the presenter of the analysis programme “Post Factum”, addressed Russian President Putin using scathing language in June 2019, after which Ramzan Kadyrov said that the journalist would pay for his words.
